recording software and equipment

i just got a microKORG and want to record some electonic music with it what kind of equipment and software should i use

if you have a pc (512 ram, 1ghz plus processor, 7200 rpm drives) thats recent you could use it to record a slew of midi tracks. you could also record live synth audio tracks with it etc going into line input of your sound card.
then you could add vocals, and loads of other instruments live depending on which instruments you play. you could add a midi sound module (you can find them used for 100 bucks) for even more variety of sounds.
if you need midi and audio recording software you wont beat what i use .

just take the video tour and try the demo. the new release has vocal pitch correction in it and a slew of new features. you can even produce notation and print it out for other players. tell me what you want to do and your pc confign in detail, and i'll comment further.

128mb of ram 733mhz

it's an HP thats about four years old i figure. it is a peice of junk if you ask me. i think my sound card is a MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device. so if you could tell me what you think i can do with that please tell me.

two alternatives mirrors. its a fact doing any multitrack work you need 512 ram to do things properly. so - 512 is mandatory i'm afraid.
you COULD do work on that machine if the drives are fast enough.
OR second idea amd sempron machines are going for around 350 bucks here, these will easily do 40 tracks.
if you just cant afford 350 bucks , then upgrade your current 128 ram to 512. put a delta pci card in a slot. youll need a mixer to feed it eg..yamaha mg for example, some mics, and monitors.
if you want my honest advice -m do what i do - i would keep your current machine for netting etc, and get a new one cheap for multitracking.
if you download diskbench from prorec.com and run it on your hard drive..
in the hp pc you have..i'll comment further.
another thing that might help with your current hp is to get a tek to put in a new hard drive . the new hard drive technology might help.peace.
