Good free samples?
I'm looking for some good-sounding, free samples of grand piano, electric bass, electric guitar, saxaphone, and drums.... any advice?

Sample CDs have come WAY down in price.
I'm sure you could Google a 'general sounds' or 'rock music' CD for $50 or so. BTW - did you ever download the Tracktion demo? |

Yes I did, thanks for your help in that! I've been tinkering around with it, but have been unable to find decent sounds to use with it.

You can get free VSTi plugins that work seamlessly with Tracktion here:
http://www.kvr-vst.com/ I think I've given you this link before, but that was before I realized that Adobe Audition was a VST fx only app... I recommend Synth One, Superwave8, and Triangle II to start with - just download and unzip them into the 'Tracktion/plugins/VST' directory. And as far as Piano goes, there's a fairly good sounding one that comes with Tracktion - MDA piano. Should be under 'third party plugins' in the 'filter' menu. |

Here's something that may be of interest from the K-v-R website
http://www.kvr-vst.com/index.php?s=main#news2600 If you can't get this link to work, EastWest and Zero G have a free 650 meg CD called 'Virtual Instruments' that includes cutdown versions of NI Kompakt and Intakt and requires no registration... |
