Cool edit Pro problem

I have cool Edit Pro and I have a problem when I record in Multitrack View. I put the instrumental on the Multitrack, and then press R on the second block. I record my verse/whatever, and when I press the Record button to stop the Recording, the sound that was recorded somehow get shorter. When I press play to see how it sounds, the voice doesnt go with the beat. It is off for some reason. Can anyone help me solve this problem???

Sounds like a latency problem. Google "latency" if you don't know what it is.

I can't help you myself, but if you take this thread to the CEP/AA forum I'm sure you'll get an answer right away.

Oh yeah, and post some info on your setup - PC, Soundcard, mixer etc...

If latency is your problem, then do what I use to do on CEP, open up whatever instrumental you are recording with on winamp or wmp or whatever, throw on the headphones, hit record in file edit view (the single file editing one), press play on your instrumental playing software and there ya go.
