Anyone tried tweaking PCI latency with Double Dawg

In a recent PC Notes in Sound on Sound, there is a discussion of tweaking your PCI bus latency using a program called Double Dawg. Apparently, you can often realize some marked differences in latency. Has anyone tried this.

I want to try working in 14/44 to save processor resources but I always get double the latency compared to working in 24/96 with my M-Audio Audiophile.

I use it to control the latency setting for my ATI AGP video card. Everything else in my system seems OK, but the default setting for my Radeon was like 256. Bumped it down to 96 using DD. Only thing I have plugged into a PCI slot is my Echo sound card - that's it.

What kind of system are you running? Processor, ram, OS, etc? What did you mean by 14/44? Did you mean 16/44?
