Starting Internet Radio station

How would I go about starting an Internet Radio station. I picture a station that plays independent artists as well as Well-known artists. I would like to run the station off of a website, so i don't have to make people go back to like a shoutcast website..or a live365 place. I'd like to keep it on the page, or just have the player pop up from my website you know. (i have to create it first)

bileshake will become famous soon enough
Yes, I'm interested in this also, I figure what better way to express our support for the bands in our links page then to have them an internet radio show with all of them on it?

It would be nice to see some replies here...

It sounds like a cool idea. When you find out how to do it let me know too.

lykwydchykyn is on a distinguished road
Maybe you should get more specific about what you want to implement and how. And how much do you know (or are willing to learn) about web development (php, javascript, etc)?

I mean, the most basic thing you can do is fill a folder on your website full of audio, then post a link to an m3u file with all the mp3's in it and set the "randomize" parameter. Do you want to broadcast live? What formats? What else will the site offer?

Just things to think about; I think it'd be cool to have a radio station dedicated to indy/home recorded music.
