just got a dmp3 (upgrading from behringer)

All I can say, is that it is true, there is a difference between the behringer preamps in a mixer, and the dmp3.

The dmp3 is tighter in the low mids and I find the highs to be better defined, not as harsh and agressive as the behringer.

I have a pretty good pair of ears, so the diffenrece was obvious (I did some test mostly with electric guitar). I can't wait to try it D.I. on bass

I strongly recommend the DMP3 as a starter preamp, I may record a direct guitar riff and then, feed it back to the amp and mic it with the dmp3 and the behringer to show you guys the diffenrece. I just gotta go finish homework for now.

thx

So is anyone interrested in me posting some comparision? I have a big load of work studying, but I always have time for some little recording. I just don't want to record a comparision and no one really checking it...

Well thanks guys, see you

I have a DMP3 and love the sucker. It is a fantastic preamp.

Someday I'll own a Great River or a Universal Audio channel or two when I have an extra couple grand hanging around and the kids are done with braces. Then I'll probably talk a whole lot differently and have something witty and well intentioned to say about the finer things in life. But that'll be then and this is now. For the money this unit really delivers.

I really like my DMP3. In that price range there is nothing better.

It's a DMP3 love-fest! Count me in. I use mine with a pair of MXL 603's for drum overheads. Nice little pre, definitely great bang for buck.

You'll also notice better imaging and a more defined stereo field when mixing stereo tracks (like on acoustic guit, e.g.).

Just got back from school, I will be doing a recording comparision for you guys.
I can't wait for my drummer to get his new drum so I can test the dmp3 with my mxl 603s.
Do you think, when recording drums, I should use my dmp3 on the overheads or on the snare band bass drum (sm57 and d112).

thx

Yikes - is that payment for the DMP-3? Like a moral punishment? God looks down and says, "Yes, you may have a new preamp ... if you go and get drilled by the dentist! HahahahahaHAHA!"

Mad.

In fact, I love all dentists lol
I produce saliva (if that's the word) that is not as acide as most saliva, so I often get some anoying black spots on my teeth (mostly on the inner part of the teeth, were the tong touches more)... that is why I love these dentists hehe
take care

Things are really gettin' weird around here. Oh yeah, this is HR. OK, weirder.

I made that jump from Bear-injure to DMP3 a while back. I asked around about it first, and most people said it might be only a modest improvement. But it proved to be very worthwhile for my set-up. I'd definitely recommend it.

Those people obviously never heard both units side-by-side.

Well I have both units and I tested them side by side 3 days ago and I can cleary remember the dmp3 being much clearer and tighter then the behringer. I find it to be a big difference, but that's only my opinion...

You're right. After I sifted through the replies I found that everyone who had actually used the DMP3 liked it. That was a couple years ago, before it's reputation was as well established as now.

No regrets on that purchase.
