Recording vocals
Hey guys just a quick question, after i record the vocals they don't have that in your sound im look im going for, they are there and loud but it just doesn't have the attack im looking for, is that something im doing or the vocalist, and how do i fix this?

Not sure of your specific situation without hearing it, but 90% of everything is the talent.

dw. try doubling the vocals for thickness. ie..record two tracks of vocals.
on the second track try sliding it forward in time by 5 milliseconds. experiment with the actual number of milliseconds. after doing the slide put the second track fader just under the first. if using awfull sounding mics like i sometimes do for an effect try eq cut in the 2k to 8k region, and boost the low mids for warmth. |
