Sonar 3 audio stutters, but not Sonar 2, WHY?

I have a Dell Demension 2350,Pentium 4,512 Ram, Win XP pro, E-mu 0404 audio card and plenty of HD space... I've gone from Cakewalk 9.3 to Sonar 2 with no audio problems at all. I also use Sound Forge 7.0.
I've recented installed Sonar3 Producer's Edition and when I play an audio track or use a soft synth I get a terrible amount of stuttering, I've tryed adjusting latency and audio buffering but with no change. I still have the other versions of Cake 9.3 and Sonar running on my PC and they both work perfectly.
This only happens with Sonar 3. ANY IDEAS???????????????

Lightbulb

What driver mode you use in with S3? Set it to either WDM or ASIO. If you're not so sure, delete AUD.INI file in your S3 installation directory, restart S3, re-run wave profiler, and select either those driver. It involves retarting S3 couple times before it goes smooth...
