Just scored! Larrivee Acoustic

I was frequenting the local shop when I found an OMV-05e with the stereo B-Band A6 pickup tagged wrong. The tag said $1099, guitar is selling at Musiciansbuy.com for $1750!! His cost was $1368. He tried to get me to go $1400, and I told him no. I met him at $1200 plus tax, and now have joined the ranks of high end acoustic guitar owners. My Tacoma is really awesome, but this is unbelieveable! Larrivee guitars rule. Just wanted to brag

Pete

I'll forgive you because you are excited over the new axe. It's a nice guitar to be sure, but the only ruling done around here will be done by my Taylor 614-CE Just had a tech raise the action a hair and now it's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

Congratulations, man. There's nothing like that new guitar feeling. I've been wanting a Larrivee for some time now, but there's always something else I want more when I have the money. And since we're talking about ruling, that will be done by my Santa Cruz OM-PW.

I first played a Santa Cruz about 6 years ago at a local shop. I fell in love, but $3500 was a little bit out of my price range at the time. I was playing like an Applause or a Dean or something. About a year later, it seemed someone finally bought it. About a year after that, the same local music shop got one off repair... yup. Same one. It needed some factory work done and it took a year to fix, nothing big. Just time. Never had been bought. That same guitar sold that same day in between the time I left to go to the bank and back for $650 bucks. Talk about a score. Someone got lucky.

My Webber rosewood/cedar OM eats Larrivee 05's, 09's and Cruz OM-PW's for breakfast, shits them out for lunch, and is hungry for more wood by dinner.

I really dig the Larrivees, thou (have owned two: D-03, D-05E), and I do love the Cruz OM's--especially the traditional OM's.

Congrats on the new Larrivee, battleminnow. You definitely scored a fine axe.

Man, maybe you need to have it set up by a luthier?

I'm jealous. I've got a pretty high-end takamine (fd-360sc) that will forever hold a special place in my heart, but I've always loved larivee's. In my opinion, they kick the crap out of taylor's. I went to the local shop and played all of the taylor's/martin's/etc. and the lone larivee they had in there was head and shoulders better to me. I don't remember what model it was, but it wasn't much over 11 or 1200. Just my opinion.

Pete, congratulations... and welcome to the Larrivee club!

I have a DV-09 (rosewood dreadnought w/venetian cutaway) that has only gotten better since I got it 2 years ago. You're going to love your guitar for a long time to come.

You guys ought to play a Morgan...they're built by ex-Larrivee luthier David Iannone in Vancouver. If you're ever fortunate enough to run into one, you'll never look back...
