Interpol drum sound
Anyone heard the latest from Interpol? They've got a great drum sound -- cool sounding "wet" snare and very present cymbals. I'd love to know how they got the sound from the experts here!
Thanks -- Keith |

There's an interview with their drummer in the most recent issue of Tape Op (#43, Sept/Oct 2004). It doesn't say too much about the drums, but he does mention that he used two different snares: a 6-1/2" brass snare and a 5" wood snare. Also, Altec 639 ribbon and Telefunken Ela M 251 LDC as room mics, in addition to many close mics on the kit. Everything recorded to tape, bounced to Pro Tools, and then back out through a Neotek Elite.
