Where To Send Monitors?
Is there a way to tell Cubase where you want your sound coming from the computer with the plugs and everything, or does it assume where it should go? For the Firepod has monitor outs on the interface, but does Cubase send it back there to go to the monitors? What about using multiple monitor choices (such as a mixing board vs. the audio interfaces - TASCAM US 2400)?
Now, as argued in previous posts...I am going to get the firepod, but I'd hate to get something I couldn't use later in my recording career.

Can you be a little clearer in your question? |

Yeah you can setup multiple output busses in Cubase (VST Connections) and assign them to whatever outputs your interface offers, provided you have them set as visible under VST outputs.
Then you just route whatever tracks or groups to whatever output buss you want. HTH

Which Cubase are you using?

It would be SE.
My question was...how does the computer know where to send the final mixed sound? Does it go through the Firewire (in my case...or if you use USB or PCI slots) back to the interface so that you can get a monitor feed? But my question was answered. I do thank you all for the responses. This is the diagram of the firepod (a firewire interface): http://presonus.com/images/firepoddiagram-big.jpg It shows a picture of the monitors being fed from the interface...I was wondering that even though the monitors are being fed from there, if they were going through the program so that you could hear whatever VST plugins you might have put on the tracks.
