Okay, this may sound REALLY stupid, but on a guitar strap like this...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...ase_id/113742/ which end is hooked up to the bottom of the guitar and which is connected to the neck area? I'm assuming that the fat end goes to the bottom and the skinny end by the neck? or is that backwards. |

Backwards; you want the widest part to go from the front horn over your shoulder.

It can go whichever way you like, but usually the wide end is towards the neck. However, on an acoustic, the thin end can sometimes fit the somewhat confined area on the side of the heal, where the strap button usually is (and usually should be).
