MR-8 as a mixer for minidisc
Has anyone used the MR-8 as a mixer for minidisc? I was wondering if I could used the optical outs on the MR-8. I would use it as a multi-tracker but also for a mixer for my MD. Thanks

I have used my MR-8 for mixing down recordings to my Sharp MT-MD290 minidisc using the optical out on the MR-8. It works flawlessly, at least for rough remixes. For remixes proper, I prefer n-Track Studio and a PC. The MR-8 USB file transfer is a must...

mr8
the mr8 is really designed to be used with the computer although it is not marketed that way.....
with no eq, crap for effects, and the mastering tools are even worse, best bet is to go the pc rout as suggested, i also recomend n track....hundreds of free effects that actually sound good, including compression limiters, delays and on and on... you wont beleive the difference in your recordings, also need a mixer for preamps if you arent already using one, you also get phantom power so you can use condensor mics, i get great results with the inexpensive mxl 990
