major se problem
i'm having a technical problem whilst recording with cubase se. once ive recorded an audio file (say drums for eg)
when i record the next file (eg guitar) it dosnt record in time, even though im playing along with it in perfect time and it seems to be recording fine, once i play it back its all out of time. I have tried everything i can think of but it still does it, and it never used to do this before, so i must have clicked somthing without realizing to create this problem, its been annoying me for weeks. any information regarding my problem will be most appreciate. |

Do a search on latency

Latency is a huge issue for the computer recordist, hence many have asked questions similar to yours, the reason your question has had few responses is because the answers are most likely already here somewhere. As a general rule it's a good idea to do a search regarding any questions you have before posting as the answer is probably already here. Here are a couple of links from Sound on Sound magazine reagrding latency which I found helpful: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug9...?session=2af30 http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr9...sion=2af3018a8 Good luck with it.

Look for a setting to detect record latency or possibly a sync setting for the clock se uses (system or wave device).
I've never used se, but if it offers a setting in the ASIO control panel for sync reference .... set it to sound output. Or if your soundcard offers it's own ASIO drivers and control panel .... set it's clock source to internal, if you are provided with the option.
