Hello all. Thanks for stopping by. Any comments, criticisms, suggestions or input you could provide me on my tunes would be greatly appreciated. I'm no pro, but would be glad to return the favor.

Relax and enjoy

Ah well, you'll have to make do with me for now then Here are a few sentences for you to ignore.

Listened to 4 minutes of Io. Nicely done, (timing felt slightly uncomfortable on the intro) but it didn't go anywhere. I liked the way you built it, there was a sense of an impending...something. But it turned out to be an aural prick tease. In other words there was not enough going on in terms of ideas for it to work - for me - as an instrumental track.

Then Sagan. Better, ideas wise, hated the drums, thought something more interesting could have been done with the bass. Still got the sense that you will drag a theme out until it's been wrung to death rather than bring in something fresh.

Nice production, very competent all round, just needs some magic dust sprinkled on it. I know, that's the hard part

Thanks for the listen

Garry

Thanks so much for the sentences Gary. You're absolutely right, I tend to focus on the second to second in a song and not create it as a whole. The end result is something that builds up and up and goes nowhere -- I guess I don't know where to go. Maybe I'll find it someday.
Thank you!

I have to agree with Garry. You have a great sence of how to make something sound interesting, but you can't keep it interesting. Try to lay out a story for every track. Where do you want to go? How are you going to get there? When will you get there? When your there, what's next?

If your intent was to create a sonic landscape for commercials, tv, or films, you're on the right track. Io has a great beat, lots of suspense, and is mixed well.

There is a market for this type of stuff; plenty of companies out there buy libraries of this sort of thing and sell it to producers looking for backing tracks.

For some reason after listening to io i felt like hearing the Theme song for Rocky. LOL seriously it does sound like the opening theme for some action movie or a cheap porno.

Cheap porno? Aww man. Is there any porno that isn't cheap? I wonder if I would be willing to sell my music to a porno movie.
