For Starters...

I need to know what I should get for starters on a rack? I'm new at recording, so the only two rack units I have are outdated digital delays. If someone could provide some brand names and what I should basically get, for example, a compressor, delay, reverb, etc.. I just need something to get started. Even though the studio I'm working on will be used by others, I'm also going to use it for my own personal music as well. I guess you could say my style of music is a sort of industrial electronic rock -- comparable to Garbage, Orgy, or Rob Zombie. Thanks.
