slaving the MD8 to MD4

Another question. If I can get a good warm signal with the preamp I bought for my MD8 I will want to buy a MD4 to slave the MD8 to. My question if anyone knows is how well this will work. Would it really work transparently as a 12 track system?

Let me know what you find out, I'd be very interested.
I think I've heard somewhere that you can't slave another md8, but I don't know...it would definatly be a feature Yamaha would have been smart to include.
