??? FOSTEX MR8, BEHRINGER VAMP 2 or PRO QUESTION???

I am planning on buying Behringer Vamp 2 or Vamp PRO.
I will use this unit to record direct into my FOSTEX MR8

These 2 units are basically the same except for:

Vamp pro has Digital outs, send/return effects in/out jacks ( that I don't need ) and... the Vamp PRO has 2 XLR balanced outputs that have a "ground lift" option and something called "ultra G " cabinet simulation.( ? ).

From what I have searched balanced connections are good to cancel any noise produced by interference in long cable situations ( not my case ).

Is there any other reason why I should prefer the Vamp PRO's balanced outpus to Vamp 2 regular outputs taking into account that the Fostex MR8 has balanced inputs for recording direct???

Have a friend who used the V-amp, I've only heard a handful of recordings, and I"m not sure which V-amp it was, but despite that fact that he is an excellent guitar player, his recordings leave much to be desired. The V-amp may serve well in a live situation, but sounds like cock-ballz-n-arse when recorded... just my opinion...

Mic a cab or amp... SM57 around $90....
