Trying to "Roll"....

Waddup People,
I am trying to create a hi-hat "roll" on my MPC3000. How do i do this without
using the "step style" sequencer?

1. Set the resolution the timing button
2.Hold the timing while pressing and holding the pad u wanna roll.
3.Turn off the full pad function if u want to have different velocities throughout the roll.
