You'd be better off getting two 17's @ 1280x1024 and 450 or 500:1 and setting them next to each other.

Never pay that kind of money, either. After all I do live in Samsung country ...

I run two at work (one 18.1" and one 17"), and I'd love to have two at home.

Actually the resolution isn't too bad at all. Most people run 1024x768 on a 15" LCD panel (and that is generally its native resolution). This double panel's resolution is 2048x768 which is (2 * 1024) x 768. It's at the normal resolution, just twice as wide.

Contrast ratio could be a shade higher, but it's not that bad either.
