mixdown on CEP

hi there
Im going to use CEP for mixdown from an 8 track digital multi tracker. Regarding sound card, do i need a multi i/o soundcard? can you give me pointers regarding what sound card to use. Thanks

You need a soundcard that has as many channels as you want to record simultaneously. If you want to record 8 sources at the same time, then you'll need a soundcard with 8 ins, like Gadgetlabs Wave 8/24 for example. But if you've already recorded to your 8-track, then why not use a 2-channel soundcard, and just transfer tracks two at a time to the computer from the multitracker.
