HELP!!! MR-8 won't mount on PC

I just recently purchased the "official" 512 CF card from the Fostex online store. I can't get the card to show up on the PC when the box is in USB mode.

The PC (Windows XP) sees the F drive, but when you try to access it, it says to insert a disk into drive F.


I have tried re-formating the card. But nothing seems to help.

You are using wavmanager, and it recognized the 128 CF card?

Are you allowing 5-30 seconds? Sometimes mine is very slow to recognize the MR8 in USB mode...

*is it possible that it is the G drive?*

if you use a card reader or the usb mode, you have to use fostex wav manager. download from fostex site, and make shure the mr8 is turned to usb mode....

I am using wav manager for my 128 card, but XP isn't even recognizing the 512 Card.

I have spoken with Fostex and they suggest I try re-formatting the card, which I did. No luck and using a card reader as opposed to using the MR-8 in USB mode.

I am waiting for my card reader to arrive and will see what happens when it does. They have told me that if it still does not work then they will send me a new CF card right away.

So now I just wait.

In light of your last post, I would insist that they send a new card IMMEDIATELY!!!

According to UPS I should have hte card reader tomorrow, so I am assuming that I will be insisting on a new card moments after setting up the reader.

Just received my San Disk 8 in 1 USB 2.0 Card Reader/Writer and it works like a charm. I moved files back and forth with no problems.
