Recording with MD

I just got the MD-R37. I have a good stereo mic setup (sm81's) i also have a nice preamp, ART's DPS. I was wondering if i could use the A-D converter on the Dps and put it right into the Minidisk player with the digital outs on the DPS.
Is this possible or am i going about this all wrong.
