Wink Advice on a Mix

hello all

quick introduction since i'm officially a newbie.

i play in a band called tornado recovery centre, and i'm currently engineering and producing our latest ep - we prefer to do things ourselves wherever possible, as we often find that it's difficult to control something and bring it in line with your own vision of it if other people are involved.

anyway, to the main point. one of the tracks is quite dynamic, and at one point we have (in various forms) around 10 or 11 quiter tracks in. apart from the odd couple, they're all playing varying parts, and all add to the mix in one way or another (and yes, we want this particular part of the song to sound absolutely HUGE). add to these guitars parts several string parts, two vocals, and a few synth parts, and you can see that the mix is quite crowded.

does anyone have any suggestions as to making all of these guitars sit nicely in the mix? i seem to be getting there at the moment, but i'm finding myself running out of space both in the stereo field, and in terms of frequencies.

sorry i can't post a copy of the mix, but it's stored on my laptop, which isn't with me at the moment, i'll be able to get one up soon though - general advice would be helpful and much appreciated.

thanks and hello to all

trc x x x
