acetylene is on a distinguished road
tascam 414 vs. tascam 414mkII

hey there
i'm new to 4-tracking and have a choice between buying a $90 used tascam 414 and a $150 used tascam 414mkII with punch in/out pedal included (also it's been barely used, is 4 years old, in v. good condition). what exactly is the difference between the two, besides the price? i'm tempted to go with the mkII but if there's really little difference, it might be nice not to spend so much.

i'm buying this to document songs (just me and guitar, not a full band) and to learn how to use a 4-track.

any thoughts most appreciated! sooner the better, have to decide quickly.

thanks!

The difference is that the MKII has two XLR jacks and a Hi Z 1/4" guitar input jack in addition to the regular 1/4" mic/line jacks found on both editions.
