Recording Guitar/Bass Wireless?

I was pondering the idea of using wireless packs from the guitar to the amp so the player could be in the control room or where ever they want with out having a cable to drag around plus it would make the run for the unbalenced cable really short. Are their any good wireless systems tha do not effect the signal at all?

That's just asking for trouble. RF interference, cut outs, batteries dying, and they *ALL* will affect tone to some degree.
