EDIROL SD-80 feedback ... any kind words ?

Any comments / feedback / pro's / con's about the Edirol SD-80 sound module ?

I'm looking at using a sound module instead of PC sound card for midi.
This model might do what I want.

Can this play multi-instruments at once ?

Any info on similar product by Roland, etc for a budget-minded home user ??? Any recommendations ?

I listened to one @ guitarcenter and was impressed.

It is 128 voice polyphonic and it's possible to get 32 individual 'instruments' going at once...

It's a modern sound canvas in every sense of the word 'modern' - modern sounds (along with piano, organ, electric piano, strings, brass, etc, etc) and modern layering.

It gets my vote as an all-around workhorse.
