Tell me about the ESP EC-1000 Deluxe, playability

I'm thinking about getting a ESP EC-1000 within the week, but I need to know how much it weights (compared to a real Les Paul), and how well the playability is when you solo high up on the neck.

Thanks in advance.

-=¤willhaven¤=- will become famous soon enough
depends on the materials used

the old bolt on eclipses i had played had thinner bodies and were rather light

i havent played a set neck one, so i cant say for sure

this just made me check ESPs site. they are making MANY neck through ESP models again. and the horizons have the nice headstocks again.

for years all you could get were badly made neck through LTDs

but, uh, yeah. any neck through ESP ive played has been really nice.

choldy is on a distinguished road
The new ESP LTD's are fantastic guitars for the money, and I think their construction quality is possibly the best of the Asian (excluding Japanese) made guitars, perhaps only rivalled by Yamaha. I can't attest to their longterm reliability, but a local music store of mine stocks them and they go out the door as soon as they come in, and I constantly go in and check out the new models and they look, feel and play great for the money. The only areas in which they are lacking is probably electronics, but this is the same as with all cheaper guitars, however the Seymour Duncan and EMG equipped models sound as good as you'd expect. The standard ESP's are also great guitars, and compare favourably with just about anything you will put up against them. The EC's I have played have been comparable to a Les Paul, however have a thinner neck and overall lighter feel, a great guitar to play. I have not had experience with the exact model you are talking about but I imagine they are equally as good.
