Arrow Recording Bass Guitar

I'm having a little trouble recording the bassist in my band. We like a loud thumping, Sublime-like, bass track....as that's how it sounds when we perform. But usually when we record the bass never comes out as much as we'd hope it to. For the guitars, we usually mic the amps and send it through a yamaha powered mixer into a echo mia in my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated

So ur micing the bass too? With what? Maybe an EQ would fix it. Bass usually likes the mid-bass freqs. Save the lowest freqs for the kick drum
