Ibanez EDB600 Pickup Replacement

Does anyone know anything about the EDB600 and how easy/hard it would be to take out the stock pickup's and put in some EMGs or others? I already know that there are basically no pickups from any brand that fit the same slot as the stock ones. So one, it'll either look bad, or 2 there will have to be some serious modifcations to the bass. But has anyone done this?
