Recording probs in Sonar

Okay, here's a reinactment of the situation-

I have just finished recording, let's say, a rhythm guitar track. Now I want to record some lead work to go with it. So I add another audio track, arm it and hit record, only to find that it's recording the playback of the rhythm track!

Why is this happening and how do I stop it? I've tried unarming the rhythm track, but with the same result.

Thanks!

You have the wrong input selected in the Windows Mixer (or in the mixing applet that was supplied with your sound card).

You need to go into the RECORDING section of the Windows Mixer and select Line In. You probably have something like Stereo Mix or What U Hear selected now.

I had the same problem. Found this thread...no more problem...now back to recording. I love this forum!
