I got a problem here..i bought Shure sm-58 and try 2 setup a small studio for my own recording session and i'm using a cheap, cheap headphone. The problem is,everytime i record..the sound@beat in my headphone will be recorded along wit my voice..i couldnt get only my voice thru the recording session..but if i off da headphone, there would be no prob at all..

Is there prob wit my headphone or soundcard ?

need a bit more info.
are you saying you record a track - THEN when you record the second track
the first track is also recorded on the second track ?
i seem to remember in the smogs of time some issues with certain cheap sound cards that will do this.
what sound card do you have ? or am i missing something completely ?
more info please. eg recording chain and soundcard etc. mixer set up etc.

If you mean that the volume in your head phones is "bleeding" into the mic there are only a couple of things to do.

1) Turn down the sound in the headphones
2) Buy different head phones

Headphones come in closed and semi-closed construction. At it's most basic, closed simply means the cup that fits over the ear encloses the sound, limiting what can escape. Semi closed allows more sound to escape.

However, a bigger concern is - how loud do you have your headphones??? An SM58 is a good dynamic mic, but it is not nearly as sensitive as a condensor. Candidly, if your headphones are so loud that the sound bleeds into an SM58 - there is a good chance that the sound is too loud for your own good.

Use of headphones can cause damage to your hearing. Hearing loss is a very real occupational hazard for musicians - use due caution. You should not need the volume in your phones soooooo loud that it bleeds into a dynamic mic.
