turn metronome permanently off?

Hey guys, I searched for this in a thread before, but didn't see it so I apologize if this has already been asked...

I have Cakewalk Pro Audio 9... Can't afford to upgrade right now, but will soon! I have a minor irritation with this one... when I start a new project, the metronome is on for recording. I use a drum machine to record a click track because the metronome doesn't seem to stay in time, I can play the two together and it's obvious it's getting off. I don't remember when I first started using Cakewalk having that on automatically, so I'm assuming I did something to turn it on, but I can't find anywhere to make the metronome permanently off. If you can tell me how to turn the metronome permanently off or even if you can tell me how to correct the timing I'd appreciate it! I'm using a 1.2Ghz machine with 256Mb Ram if that matters... I used to run it on a 700Mhz with 256Mb so I'm assuming it doesn't...

If you are using a roland drum machine, the drum machine is the problem.

This is the kind of thing that arguably should be some sort of global setting outside the realm of particular projects.

The way to handle it in SONAR is to make a template. You can set up a default project exactly how you want, then save it as a template file with a name. WHen you create a new project, base it on this template, and you thereby will start with all the setting that you configured in the template file.

Lightbulb

I don't remember in CWPA 9, but in Sonar, it's on Options --> Project --> Metronome. You can turn it on or off, recording or playback...

To rid it out of your usual project template, open the template do the procedure above, and save it to replace existing template...

Not a roland drum machine, although I do hear similar problems in my Roland drum set now that I think about it...

I don't see anything template related unfortunately. It's a minor irritation but thought I'd see if there was a resolution, thanks for y'alls responses!

???

Did you look?

The manual and the help system both talk about templates.
