basics anyone?

hello.

well i'm new this whole world of keyboards..

basically i'm a producer and make beats with another friend of mine. i was thinking of buying a keyboard to expand and hopefully help us with the making of these beats aha. well can someone tell me, or give me a link to where i can find the basics? like what's the difference between a midi controller, synthesizer and etc. does the m-audio radium and triton have the same features but just one betters the other? any help is appreciated
