CEP v1.2a - Can't Get Old Temp Files To Work Right

I have a really quick, sort of simple problem. I've had this problem before, but now I'm seeing if there's actually a fix before I go deleting temp files I'd like to keep.

I've recorded some stuff in Cool Edit (long audio recordings of TV programs - some awards shows, etc.) that I didn't save to .wav right away but kept in the temp files, and planned on going about my time opening them when the program brings up the Continue Now/Delete/Later screen. But my computer sort of crashed/broke and I had to reformat my main C: drive with Windows on it, and hence reinstall Cool Edit. This caused me to no longer be able to open these files with that Continue Now screen. The .TMP files are still there, but if you try to open them simply by going to open file, and picking 16-bit and the seemingly right format, it is semi-corrupted. That audio will skip, parts will be where they shouldn't. It isn't like this in the way they normally open.

So my question is, how can I fix this? I'm guessing that the temp file setup is saved in the registry, so it might be possible to edit this how I like it so CoolEdit thinks I'm continuing the old files. Although I think this is somewhat dependent on recovery files in the CoolEdit directory. However, there should be someway to open these .TMP files normally, I find it weird that opening them causes them to corrupt. Maybe there is a way to not make them corrupt? I'm not sure. I would appreciate any help in this, it's been bugging me for a while and I have several GBs of temp files I can't use right now but would like to. Thanks.
