Exclamation Using Cool Edit Pro Effects?

Hi, i am fairly new to using the cool edit pro effects. I have 4 soundcards running in my computer, one records my snare drum, one records my bass drum, and 2 for overheads. As well, i use the line 6 guitar port to record guitar and bass. I was wondering what effects could be added to make this mix sound better. I have many effects plus added effects i downloaded, some GAA effects package. I do not really know how to use the effects or even what they do. In this mix i added reverb and thats about it. I was wondering how i could make the guiat sound clearer and brighter and not so distorted. Well if anyone could help me it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks. Cliff

Mixdown
This mi only had guitar, bass, drums (snare and kick are the only things miced up)

Sounds pretty good. I would suggest to turn the snare down a tad....also effects are to only be used as needed. Just becuase you have it dosn't mean you need to use it. As far as the distortion, turn it down on the pod.
