Talking Monitor

Just wondering.... How much difference is there in having your monitors mounted on wall mounted t.v stands than having them mounted on monitor stands? (you know, the proper ones, made for the job.) How much dose the sound vary? (I use absolute 2s)

Lightbulb

Jayme,

There are two issues here, and neither has anything to do with the stand's construction.

One issue is how close to the wall the speakers are. With wall mount stands you have little or no chance to try different spacings.

The other issue is the value of decoupling the speaker cabinet from the wall and floor. You can use a sponge or hunk of foam or rigid fiberglass under the speakers, and in that case the type of stand doesn't matter.
