Clavia nord electro 2 rack or synth ?

Hello,

Yesterday I have tried/heard the clavia nord electro 2 and since that divine moment I can't think of anything else. One thing though I can't figure out (as a newbie) is should I buy the synth or the module?
If I would buy a nice masterkeyboard maybe even a combination masterkeyb/synth like the novation X in combi with the module, I would have a synth, a great masterkeyboard and the great sounds of the electro for the same price (or lower) than the nord electro 2 synth! So why not do this??
The thing I don't know is:
- What are the pros and the cons for using the rack version vs the synth version (especially during performances). For example would you be able to assign the virtual sliders of the organ to the sliders/knobs of the masterkeyboard?
- Could I also be using the nord electro 2 synth as a masterkeyboard with my computer (for VST instruments and Reason and so on) or is this unadvisable?

Virtual sliders are provided to be used, and assigning them to the sliders and knobs of your master keyboard will be a fine way to access them. So the answer is a big yes!
It's a big yes to your second question too -- if you can come up with a way that's not too exhausting or cumbersome to bring that big keyboard into your computer room that's going to be most of the battle right there...

And as far as keyboard vs module goes, I've always advocated as much sonic possibility packed into as little space as possible, so that would mean my vote would be for the module.

But you're going to have to live with it so don't make a hasty decision either way...
