Saving MIDI (drum tracks from BIAB) to a song in the SR-16...
Hi Folks,
I've been searching for a way to convert/send/save a MIDI file into a song in the SR-16. The SR-16 Drum Kit Editor can do this with drum kit information so I thought it would be somehow possible through software. Since you can copy songs from one SR-16 to another I was hoping someone had written a program that could open a MIDI file containing a song'sworth of drum info, convert to the appropriate format and send to the SR-16. I'm creating the drum tracks in Band-In-A-Box saving them as a standard midi file with drums on separate tracks. I then pull that file into a score writing program, strip out everything else but the drum tracks and save back to a midi file. The file will then play accurately using the sr-16 as the external sound module but, alas I haven't a clue how to save it into a song. Any thoughts, avenues to explore, places to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, festival |

sr-16
that i know of, there is no way to save midi to the SR-16.
the only thing you can do is to save your written programs onto a tape, like they used to do in the old days of computers (remember the trs80?) i am sure this is not in midi format, so it wouldn't work to save the midi onto tape and just reload it. sorry for the bad news

Is it possible with the Boss DR-770?...
Thanks RR. Do you know if it can be done with the BOSS DR-770? I've got one on the way but they don't have a downloadable manual & haven't found anything on the net yet.
