Talking New Basement

Hi guys, I've been lurking for a while and posting sometimes, and have finally bought a house.

I was wondering if any of you gurus here could give me some advice? I'm looking to build a studio where I'll be able to record drums. The area I have to work with, though, might be a bit of a problem, unless you can suggest something to get around the limited space.

The attached file is a diagram of my basement drawn in Paint (sorry, I'm at work and don't have much else to work with). I've taken measurements, and the yellow portion is the space I have to work with.

Keep in mind, ceiling height is 7'2", and under the HVAC ductwork in the center (indicated by gray outline), it's around 6'2".

Suggestions? I'm really excited to see what I can do with this place!

Thanks!

Chris

Do you really need that much laundry space?

Anyway, here's my idea: Save up enough money for construction, and put some quality time and effort into making it look nice. (New home right? Why not?)

I think this would look good:

I like the "waste of space". Brilliant. By the way, what does one do with wasted space, ignor it?
