teac x-10

Is the teac x10 worth buying as a unit to mix down to? a friend of my dads is selling one (cheap) and it is in almost unbeliveable good condition. what are the pros and cons to this unit and is the sound any good?
thanx,
Paul

The X-10 was a well made deck but it is a quarter track, stereo machine so, it won't produce a true, thick, half track stereo sound level of definition that a professional 1/2 track stereo deck running at 15 ips would produce.

It will definitely be better then a high end cassette deck though so, if it's cheap enough, owning one shouldn't be a burden.

How much is he asking for it?

Cheers!
