Unhappy SOUNDFORGE not recording synth/midi

Hello. I am a relative newbie to making music but am usually pretty ok with computers ..
but overnight, soundforge has decided not to record my cakewalk tunes...

[ I usually take tracks such as piano from cakewalk..play them whilst recording in soundforge and 'wav them up' in soundforge ]

I have checked my system sound settings and oddly enough, "synth" is there in the playing area with volume up etc, but when I click recording it's not there..
might that have anything to do with it?

additional information:
onboard soundcard SIS650
recently installed "buzz" [which is rubbish] but feel it might have somehow made itself the 'default synth recorder'
i have a MIDI to WAV converter software somewhere but recording indivudal channels direct is so much more convenient...

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE ANYONE FOR ANY ADVICE

Sounds like simple recording selections .....
Fire up the windows mixer go to properties/ adjust volume for Recording ... place a check mark at all of the selections that you want to appear .... click OK ..... now select the device you wish to record from (which input).

HEY ALL

Soundforge is yet again only recording from mic..
but this time I cannot do a system restore since I recenyly installed loads of software and drivers and Im not prepeared to go thru that messing around after a system restore..

OK let me repeat what I said easlier
IN THE AUDIO RECORDING PROPERTIES IN WIN XP SYNTH AND WAVE DO NOT APPEAR TO BE SELECTED OR ADJUSTED...

its driving me crazy coz its the only way I can record my cakewalk MIDIs for wav...
