Headphones with mixing, need an amp?

If using an 80 ohm set of headphones such as beyerdynamic 770 dt pro, is it necessary to have a headphone amp when plugging into recording hardware such as a digidesign 002 or mbox? Thanks

You only need a headphone amp if you want to use multiple sets of headphones.
