How to delete templates

ok so ive been running cubase sx 2 for a while now and have created many templates to make life easier. 1 problem - ive just bought a yamaha 01x and now none of those templates are any use. any ideas how to delete them. I've looked throught all the system folders to manually delete the file but i cant find my templates - only the ones that were preset on there. anyone know how to do this? i'd be very grateful

I'm just going from memory since I'm not in front of my DAW right now... I've done it several times though. Within the Steinberg folder there should be a sub folder somewhere named "templates". You'll find them in there. I'm not sure but the templates folder may be a "hidden" folder, if so you'll have to make sure you're able to "view" all files and folders from within Windows.

The templates folder is in the Cubase folder which is in the Steinberg folder. Tahts where all your templates are stored. Delete em and they're gone.

Hippo is on a distinguished road

Many ways round this one!!

If you are up to date and legal then go to your Cubase SX application folder
Click on the open_cubase_application_data folder icon and then just follow your nose!!

If you have an older or "alternative" version you may have to find this usually hidden folder manually. (look around the widows user data area)

There is a more technical windows/Steinberg and historical legacy compatibility explanation for why things are split this way but I really cant be bothered to go into it.

Why there is not simply a delete template option within the program beats me!!

This question is a common one and is in the routine help data base for official support.

You really should give official support a try, you paid for it.

If you did try official support first and they could not sort this one please let me know the details.

If you came here first I would also like to know why?

More and more in this age of "free" software the real value of buying is in the product support area and if that has been lacking in your case please feel free to contact direct.
