help me please!!!

I am trying to Mix a song with cubase vst. The original song was recorded with protools. I have the 24/48 .wav files of all the instruments. Every time i Import the files they slow right down and loose tempo. I know this because i imported the click and its supposed to be 80 bpm but now its way slower. what am i doing wrong? Is it something to do with the sample rate? if so how do i change the sample rate in the cubase session? Does cubse automaticaly change the sample rate to fit the session like protools? HELP ME PLEASE!!

Thanks so much

I am a new cubase user trying to switch from Pro Tools. Because the pro tools system i use belongs to a friend of mine. I just but the EMU 1820 M and it comes with VST. I am going to Upgrade to SX But I want to learn this first.

If you know for sure they where recorded @ 48kHz, then you need to set Cubase at the same sample rate.

I'm not sure how you change it in Cubase VST .... I have Nuendo and it's done under Project\Project setup.
