New screamo song

Hey guys,

Been a while since i had some work up here. Anyway this is a local band that just recorded in my studio. This was their test drive. So I wanted to turn down the gain and do some double tracks but for some reason we ended up cranking the drive and only doing 1 track of each. Hit me up with comments. I know there are some rough parts but I have been workin on it a lot and am not sure if I should just be satisfied with it.

thanks
Rudy

OK...

The vox sounds as if it is clipped...especially on the screams...
how were the levels when you tracked?

guits are a little crowded in the mix too man....they have a live vibe to them for sure...whole mix does actually...the bass could use some definition...perhaps a fast attack compression...
drums sound pretty good when they are not being buried by the guits..
The snare is a little sharp for my taste man...the Toms sound awesome though.....hard to hear the cymbals over the guits too man...

This got really nice at 1:28 for a couple of seconds..nice change up...

You are getting better man....
Very cool,
Joe

thanks man... ya after we tracked they wanted the guitars heavier... so i was trying anythign to make them heavy. Looks like hees gonna come back and re-track. Hopefully that way i wont have to suck up so much space trying to satisfy.

Ill work on some of the stuff you noted and post back soon.

Thanks again

PS

goal guitar sound from the band : http://www.purevolume.com/emery "Walls"

o ya and the screams were done seperately than the vox... I think there are some clips. Once i get the mix cleared out from those loud guitars I can prolly work on the vocals. I just had to run them so high do to the guitars.

imo: the room you're recording in is too wet for your purposes or you're using too much reverb. you want a really dry room and no reverb for that kind of thing.

did you use a trigger for the kick or something? cuz it sounds really detached from the rest of the kit.
