what can I do to improve this mix?
This mix was recorded months ago but here's how I recorded them.
Comp Specs: Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz CPU 512 MB RAM 128mb video card stock sound card What I use- 3 Shure PG 48s Behringer cheap mixer Cakewalk Music Creator 2003 For the drums, I put a mic inside the bass drum, on the snare, and over the drums. For the guitars, I miked the cabinets. Bass is direct through the mixer and compressed. I am new to the recording "thing" and my birthday is coming up so if any of you guys suggest anything to buy my limit is 400-500 dollars or less. Maybe a new soundcard with multiple ins. i was looking at this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/701341/ but i dont know how it works for the drums, I want separate tracks for the bass, and the snare It says that the PCI card has 4 ins but i dont think their 1/4. I am so frustrated right now because I want to make separate tracks but I dont know how. Can any1 PLEASE tell me how/what to buy. The song is here www.purevolume.com/silentrebellion Thank you so much guys. |

For the soundcard, I would go with the Delta 44 by M-Audio.

That's what I would do. That and a DMP3. And maybe a decent mic. 44 - $150 (or less on ebay) dmp3 - $150 Mic - $100-250 Stays within your budget.

Music doesn't sound too bad on this... But is that supposed to be vocals???
I concur with the Delta 44 suggestion... that's what I use... Works great. Last edited by Disposable; 07-16-2004 at 14:11.. |

I like your guitars a lot, In the future I would have the drums play more simplified stuff and just lay the foundation, that will let the guitars come out more and make the sound more enjoyable and you don't need any new equipment for that. But you should get something like a used delta 1010, or something with 8 ins so you can set it up and record you jam sessions.
