connection problem..help

hi, iam recording off my laptop and purchased a mobile-pre usb instead of using the crappy sound card that is in the laptop. I also purchased an 8 channel unpowered mixer. I was told that I could run the mixer into the mobile-pre usb, and from that into the computer. So I could put the mics into the mixer and record throught that using the mobile usb as a conncection. I havent been able to find out how to connect the two though. How do I do it? What do I plug into what?

I've not used this unit but looking at its spec sheet I see it's a two channel mic preamp with a USB connection for computer. You wouldn't use a mixer with this set up unless you needed to sum more than two mics to one or two channels. What are you wanting to record? More than two discrete channels SIMULTAINIOUSLY? You can still multitrack record with this set up, just not more than two tracks at a time. If you are just wanting to sum a bunch of mics down to one or two tracks, you'd patch the main left/right output of the mixer to the LINE inputs on the Mobile. Check to make sure you're matching levels (-10 or +4).
