what is the light of the world and why is it crushing my head?

Hey stonepiano, thanks for your read and your question. This song is based on the Bible. Jesus is refered to as the light of the world. The snake is satan. The very first prophesy in the bible is about satan bruising Jesus in the heel, (when He was put to death, but He was raised from the dead so it wasn't really death dealing permanetly, hence a bruise in the heel) then Jesus would bruise satan in the head (Permanant destruction). As far as crushing your head I hope I'm not conveying that in the lyrics. If I am, I'm way off base.

I tend to avoid bible stories like the plague though so it's none too surprising I didn't get it.
