Help ! no audio with SX2 !

Hello all,
Please help if you can, I am new to Cubase and all that goes with it, so all help is really appreciated. My problem is audio!
I am running SX2 on my laptop (windows XP) using my old Korg 01WFD as control, thru an M Audio Quattro and MU80 sound module. I am getting the hang of the midi aspect and can record and get sound out , but alas I am not able to get audio in or out. This is probably a basic problem for most of you but it is driving me potty. Please help, and thanks for your time.
JR

I suggest yuou have a look at the manual -- it clearly describes the input and output routing you need to set-up for audio.

Yep, the "Getting Started" manual that comes with the programs walks you through getting your audio recording set up. It's really easy to follow.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, got it sorted. My problems was preamps, all sorted now. Now the next problem, really bad glitches with audi playback. I am getting audio in, guitars & vocals, but when played back it glitches really badly. The glitches appear to happen at the same time as my laptop indicates activity with the flashing LED light. I have no trouble with the midi tracks, its only when I playback audio, any ideas ? and thanks.

Drop Outs and skips can be attributed to hard disk throughput. Chances are your laptop has a 5400RPM drive (kinda slow for multitracking ... not to mention it's only ONE drive ... thats a lot of work for the drive to run the OS, programs and stream the audio data all at the same time). You may be able to get better results by increasing the sample buffers a bit and make sure that no unnecessary programs are running in the background and defrag regularly.
Worst case ... you may have issues with the chipset used for the USB controller in your laptop or some IRQ's not willing to share very well.

A couple of helpful links .....
MusicXP - tweaking for DAW work.
Black Viper - trim some fat off XP.
